Realising that our school has traditional paper-based documents that represents some form of an archive of events that have shaped and transformed Ventersburg Combined from when it was earlier known as Hoer Skool Ventersburg (HSV) to Ventersburg Intermediate, the web developers were requested to build a repository of some kind in order restore the image of the VCS.

Archiving the history of VCS from its established in 1879 to the present day is essential as it presents an acurate picture of where the school comes from and what it is destined for. The value of erecting a website for the school is in preserving the traditions of the school for future generations of learners, parents and teachers.

Different organisations preserve institutional memory differently. Memorial walls, memorial stones are used to mark a historical event. Our school decided to use a modern digital 'magazine' called a website. This site should be seen as a marketing tool to popularise the school within the community of Mmamahabane, Ventersburg and outer lying areas.

Different parts of the website tell the same story about the school yet differently. The entry pint to the site if the 'Home' page that displays different points from which you can learn about the school. The 'History' of the school is essential as it teaches present and prospective parents, learners and teachers about the school. 'Extra-curricular activities that are offered by the school are available on the site. Learners who have recently attended school at VCS will get more information about their matric class on the 'Alumni' page.

Research has been carried out and care has been taken in order to present information about the school as accurate as possible. Priceless information about the founding principal and her staff of 1880 is reflected on the website. The different principals (with their staff) that have headed and transformed the institution since its inception is available on this site.

It should be noted that this website is a work in progress, i.e new and additional information will be added as and when it becoes available.
