1800

1836:  The movement of the Voortrekkers into the interior of the SA came with the introduction of education in Ventersburg. Daniel Peffer, the teacher of the Trek of Louis Trichard, played a leading role in order to have the children educated.

1863:  The entrnchment of formal education was concomital with the establishment of Gereformeerde Gemeente on 23 Sep 1863, on the 'Kraamfontein' farm of Mr BG Venter.

1873:  The then inpsector of schools, Mr Brebner J, met with the school committee under the chairpersonhip of WA Venter to start an era of twon school in the area

1876:  The first permanent school building, valued at £500 (R 1000) was erected with the finacial aid of local residents. The school closed a year later as children could afford to attend farm schools.

1880:  The school reopened during February with Me van de Gryp as the head. The lady who was fluet in seven languages left the school in 1882

1882:  The school was temporarily closed until 1889 and served as the post office, magistrate's court and polica station.

1891:  The school reopens it's doors under the leadership of Mr SA leRichie. He was followed by GJ Rossouw as the new principal.

1897:  Mr W van der Merwe Herholdt, a Kapenaar from Wellington, is appointed a permanent principal of the school

1899:  The outbreak of the Anglo-Boer war forced Mr van der Merwe Herholdt to return to the Cape colony while the school was used as a hospital.
